It's all about FOOD!

Okie Doke.... last episode of Toffee's journey in Japan. As the title goes, it's all about food ;-)

= Kawaramachi Shijo-Sanjo, KYOTO =

First lunch in Kyoto at our usual Katsukura Pork Cutlet place.

We made a brief stop at a branch of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in Shinkyokyoku shopping area close to Katsukura place and prayed for our success in study. (This shrine is very welknown for educational god. -- keep our fingers crossed!)

Toffee and Moo+!

Then, dinner at AkaOni Ramen. Please don't mind my off-focus picture. I just wanna show you why the ramen got its name. "Aka Oni" means "Red Giant". Look at the picture in the menu and also the ramen bowl and see if you think so?!?!

= KYOTO Station Building =

Our second day in Kyoto was around Kyoto Station Building.

We stopped by a book store to find really cute o-bento decoration book. Look at how creative the Japanese are!! Just love that squid on the top :) But it made me realized how difficult it is to be a mother here in Japan. You can't just cook good food. You have to be decorative too!!

Tea time!

Everyone loves this Yuki-Ichiko mochi.

This is how it looks inside. Shortcake, whipped cream and a strawberry wrapped in a really soft mochi paper.

= NAGOYA =

our eel (unagi) sushi for lunch

... and more unagi meal.
Nagoya is famous for Unagi. Plus summer is also the unagi season.
This Nagoya style of Unagi meal is called 'Tsumabushi". We did the "Jyo-Tsumabushi", which uses higher grade of Unagi. Yes... we had our world there! hee hee. =P
(Thanks N'Ying for passing me the discount coupon na!!)

There are 3 ways you can enjoy this meal.
(1) Have it just like that and enjoy the real taste of the eel.

(2) add some seaweed, green onion and wasabi ...

and (3) add the tea soup (O-cha-tsu-ke)
Tell ya.. IT'S REALLY GOOOOOD! :9

= Hyakumanben, KYOTO =

Last but not least, we came back to Kyoto for our last lunch at the Japanese MOS BURGER.

***********************
Great (eating) trip!! =P
