Light up @ Arashiyama

Took a break from school and went to see light up @ Arashiyama for a bit last weekend. So crowded and VERY COLD!!! Still haven't had time to look through all the photos I have been taken in the past few months, so here... just an appetizer! ;-)

I love bamboos and, of course, bamboo forests. But being there at night was... hmm... (if without other people around) very scary!

New specie @ Toba Aquarium

Had a chance to visit Toba Aquarium the other day. Its highlight is actually the Dugong (which was VERY cute!), but I found this specie more interesting, though rather scary!!!! ^^

We love the king! (...and I love my daddy!)

Another year has passed. It's the time again to celebrate His Majesty King Bhumibol's birthday. This year marks his 80th anniversary. I don't think we need to say much, a lot of you have probably already noticed how much we love our king. All I can say is that "I'm so proud to have been born in his land and that I am a Thai!"

A song being shared here is one of His Majesty's compositions. This song is called "Can't You Ever See", composed in 1955 and numbered 22nd in his composition collection.

Happy Father's Day!!! ดีใจมากที่ได้เกิดมาเป็นลูกพ่อ ได้มาทั้งหน้าตาและความสามารถหลายอย่าง ใครๆก็บอกว่าก๊อปพ่อมาเต็มๆ พี่ใหญ่เขียนไปหลายอย่างแล้วเมื่อปีที่แล้ว ปีนี้คงไม่ต้องเขียนกันมากล่ะเน๊อะ ก็อยากให้พ่อดูแลสุขภาพตัวเองให้มากขึ้นหน่อยนะ ขุดดินน้อยๆหน่อย เดี๋ยวมีคนคิดว่าเป็นคนสวนอีก =) แต่ว่าต้นไม้ที่พ่อปลูกงามน้าาาา ไว้จะไปรอเก็บเกี่ยวผล โดยเฉพาะที่เขาใหญ่ เที่ยวเยอะๆอย่างนี้ก็ดีแล้ว แต่ว่าจะไปเที่ยวไหนบอกกันมั่งดิ แอบอิจฉา... ฮาฮา.. แล้วก็ไว้จะไปแอบอ่านบันทึกท่ีองเที่ยวพ่อนะ เผื่อเอามาก๊อปไปเที่ยวมั่ง อิอิ... (อันนี้ก็มีคนบอกว่าเรื่องเขียนบันทึกเที่ยวนี่ พ่อ-ลูกเหมือนกันเลย... ;-) เดี๋ยวนี้พิมพ์ดีดเก่งแล้วก็เขียนขึ้นเว็บเล้ยยย.. จะได้ทันสมัย อินเทรนด์ๆ) ยังไงเดี๋ยวกลับไปเจอกันปลายปีนี้ จะรีบปั่นงานให้เสร็จเยอะๆ จะได้ไปอย่างไร้กังวล

My best friend's wedding

Here it comes again, the wedding season!! So many friends of mine are getting married or already got married during these few months. December 1 was also marked as my best friend's wedding! Again, being in Japan has kept me away from joining the party, but we know well even though I couldn't be there in person, it's the feeling that communicates. Congratulations na ja my dear!

*for those who don't know, Kay and I have known each other since what? 10 years old? We completed high school together but took different path for our further study. She's just completed her Ph.D. in genetics under Anandamahidol Scholarship (King's scholarship). <-- so proud of her!!
Now we know that doesn't matter how much you've grown up together, after some years apart, lives can end up totally different! Argh!!! What am I doing now?!?!? Argh!!! PANIC!!! hahahahaha*

overwhelming @ Loy Kratong Fest.

Having only a few minutes here, I'd like to thank everyone for coming to cheer (or sending warm wishes for) our performance at Loy Kratong Festival in Osaka. We really had a great time.

Special thanks to Best for taking the photos for us. There are so many that I haven't yet had a chance to look through them myself. After I do, I will surely post some more later. In the meantime, here is us on stage.



Oh yeah.. our band's name is "KLIEW เกลียว", which in Thai means bonding. (In Japanese - how about 栗会う (read "ku-ri-a-u" -> meet the chestnuts?? haha =P)

Current band members: Kee, Woody, P'Ton, Yok and I.
(Of course, there were a few other friends who already left Japan and Kansai area but used to be in this performance group - of course, N'Bow, you were one of the OLD members na. <-- mai bok laew diew+ ja noi jai.... whuahahaha)

Thanks everyone again. Hopefully we have secured a place for our next performance some way somehow. :)

JPN-THA world cup volleyball

Another episode of Volleyball talk. This is the third time already! whoo hoo!
(1st - World Volleyball Championship 2006,
2nd - World Grand Prix 2007)

Competed in Japan in 4 rounds against all other 11 participated national teams, the first top three from this tournament will automatically be given a spot to compete in Beijing Olympics next year. Today is the last day of the tournament, an unbeatable Italy and the U.S. already their tickets to the Olympics booked. The last one is yet to be known, but Japan already lost its seat. They will have to compete in the following qualification round next March.

What's special for the tournament this year is that it's the first time in the history that Thai National Teams are participating in this event. They performed very well in the Asian cup volleyball earlier this year and ended up with the bronzes. What's even more fascinating is that they were competing against the Japanese right here in Osaka! Of course, we went!!!

At the end, Thai lost 0-3 sets, but it was a really nice game. The second set was the best, Thai team lost only 25-27: very close call. Looking forward to the next matches!

Kyoto City Philharmonic playing Johannes Bach's

Kyoto City Philharmonic Chorus sang today at Kyoto Concert Hall in Kitayama area. A really nice selection of Johannes Sebastian Bach's. I love their arias - very nice.
Pe's host mom sings with this Chorus group and the complementary tickets we had in hand seated us back behind and above the chorus. That permitted a nice view from the very back of the stage - as if you are a part of their chorus. Pe moved her seat to the front later on and told me the pianist was good looking. Dang! I guess that was the cons of backstage seats. haha. Thanks Pe for asking for my accompany. I had a really chill time!

Anyways, photos taken today were from before the concert and during intermission. I know.. photographing was prohibited inside the hall. Oops! =P

Birthdays' Fiesta

Last weekend was one of the most tiring weekend for me. After spending a few days at Osaka University for TJSE (Thai-Japanese Students' Academic Meeting) prep (as their driver), did a research presentation there and stayed onward into Thai students' sport event, I was completely drained. Accumulated lack of sleep really played some effects - that surely came with aging! Oops!

We had staff dinner on Saturday and despite the fact that we were REALLY tired, some of us still stayed up for an overnight karaoke session in town. I know.. I know.. I should have gone home to rest, but well... you know.. sometimes you just ride along the wave. Lesson learned though, at this age, you shouldn't over-exhaust yourself by an overnight karaoke party! Most of us ended up taking turn sleeping. However, we managed to always have someone sing even when others were already asleep! Nice teamwork. haha. =P

Anyways, since I already missed the last train, I'd come home with one of the earliest train rides on Sunday morning, just to shower, nap and left again for my friends' birthday celebration (and that was in Osaka!) We have had this birthday planning for a really long time and I just couldn't simply miss it just because I went karaokeing! I was late though. Another oops here! But it was a really fun day.

Pe's birthday at Dim Sum Buffet place

The VERY same day in the evening, P'Ton and I headed back to Kyoto for another friend's birthday celebration. We did this Dim Sum buffet for dinner and man... I WAS STUFFED! Three large consecutive meals were killing! But well, it was good. =9 yum~~.
