An afternoon of a heated day, a little girl was sitting by the window reading a book. All of the sudden, she heard a fuzzy sound of a flying insect. It caught her ears. She turned around and looked. What she found was a flying fly trying to escape from the killing capture of a spider. The poor fly couldn't do anything except putting together all the strength it has to attempt to flee itself. The girl stared straight at the hunter and its poor victim. She looked... looked... and looked. It was a little while until the poor victim was taken away its soul. The girl sighed and went back to her reading.
What would you do if you were that little girl? Would you sit there staring at them not doing anything? Or would you attempt to help that poor fly? Most of all, why?

I recommend you to watch the best documentary of the year, The Grizzly Man by Werner Herzog. It's about a man trying to protect the Grizzly Bears with his passionate love, and at the end eaten by a bear.
Of coz the docu is alot more than this 1-sentence description. The debate about nature and humanity is brillantly addressed and carried out in the docu.

Mmmm...difficult question. Literally if we're talking flies & spiders, I know I wouldn't do anything b/c I don't like flies :p and it is, after all, the cycle of life.
But what if the fly & spider were real people? I would like to say that I would step in, just b/c I don't think killing is right (but then again, I'm such a coward...). It would depend on the reason of the killing--if it's a matter of survival.
Hmm, so if a person kills another to steal his money or whatever, just so his desperate, starving family can have something to eat...is that justified?
All things equal, I'm against killing (and I'm against capital punishment!).
i will definately watch the spider kill the fly. Death is part of life. You might save the fly's life for that moment, but who knows the fly ended up in the frog stomach a minute later.

I don't think I really can stand witnessing a life taken away (if not by me :P). The fly would be dead right there if I didn't save it. But the spider won't...unless he can't find anything for a few days.
And, of course, I'll take both of them out of my house. It's likely that there's more food for the spider out there.

พูดเรื่อง karma...everything that happens (or arises)is not just direct-linear cause and effect event na. It's more of dependent co-origination. Those who would save the fly have "good intention". It's a good thing to do, but by applying the principle of "putting yourself in others' shoes" only...hmm it's correct na but is it "sufficient" in a bigger picture?
and as I said, other people would ask you, then, why do you eat meat and dairy product? That's why I gave such a long first answer.
It's a similar question whether you give money to ขอทาน (not วณิพก) or not.
Even people who say yes have different resons. - that's a whole 'nother topic to discuss her her.

(แต่ถ้ากรณีล่าเหยื่ออย่างอื่น อย่างกวา่งถูกสิงโต กำลังจะกิน ก็คงไม่เข้าไปช่วยอ่ะ เพราะเราจะตายเอาซะก่อน)
