First experience with Russian Food

Well... first of all... I know.. I know.. I already wrote 2 blogs today. But well, since there was the first... second... then, why not adding one more?!?!

The thing is, I got a chance to go to Russian Restaurant today! Big thank to Ichikawa sensei who introduced me to another side of the world I hardly know of. It was my very first time to try Russian Food. It was definitely great! The restaurant's called 'KIEV'and located by the corner of Shijo-Gion area. Nice atmosphere and beautiful scenery of Kamo River. Below is the set we had... So full!!

Baikal Course A

Course Menu:
1. Assorted Appetizer
2. Russsian Soup: Borsch (Ukrainian Style)
3. Main Dish: Beef Stew (left picture)
4. Kapusta Salad
5. Homemade Russian Bread
6. Russian Tea (they use flower jam instead of sugar.. quite nice :9)
7. Seasonal Fruits

The bread, especially the piece baked on top of Stew bowl was sooooo good! Kudo-san, a former student of Ichikawa sensei who just graduated from Kyoto University also was with us for dinner. Maybe.. who knows... by next year we might get to go to Russia together!! ;-)
