Toffee in Japan - Gion Matsuri

Really feel so ashame we spent a week together in Japan, but there were more of food pictures and that of ourselves! =P

Well, Toffee arrived Japan on the 14th at nightfall and we met up in Sannomiya, Kobe, before heading to my friend's place together. Toffee was here for her Ph.D. research presentation at a Trade Seminar held in Kobe University during the 15th-16th.


Riding on this chance, she planned to stay for a few days longer. We first met up with Naba-chan and Makihiro-san for a really lovely dinner in Kitano. For those who are confused, Naba-chan was Toffee's host family during our visit to Hiroshima in 1998 and is a Japanese friend whom I attended her wedding party last year. I will write about that in a different blog cuz the food just deserves its own space! haha =P

The following day after the seminar, we of course went to the Kobe beef steak restaurant, the same place I took Jae earlier. Yum!!

Then, we headed directly back to my place in Kyoto. Put ourselves on with Yukata (Summer Kimono) and went out to town to enjoy a festive night of Yoiyama Festival (an eve to Gion Festival, one of the very most famous festivals in Japan.)

Our night didn't end just like that. We went to get our picture taken with photo sticker machine too! Oh gosh.. haven't done this in a REALLY long time.
